The inspiration for Studio Loft came from the need for a versatile space that could adapt to various situations. The interior showcases an industrial aesthetic, with a white resin floor that also serves as an endless backdrop, and a wooden floor on other levels to provide warmth. The exterior combines metal doors, exposed concrete, and differently colored wooden panels, reflecting the urban surroundings.
What sets Studio Loft apart is its seamless integration with the outside. Overlooking a small urban square, the studio opens entirely to the outside, allowing the inner space to flow into the building's side gardens and the urban space. This spatial continuity is further enhanced by an aluminum gate recessed into the concrete binding, and two large swinging metal gates, each over 11 meters wide, that facilitate fluidity between the gardens and the studio's open space.
The project, which began in February 2008 and was completed in September 2012 in São Paulo, Brazil, is a collaboration of a diverse team of designers and architects. The team, led by Marcio Kogan, includes Beatriz Meyer, Carlos Costa, Carolina Castroviejo, Diana Radomysler, Eduardo Chalabi, Eduardo Glycerio, Eduardo Gurian, Elisa Friedmann, Gabriel Kogan, Lair Reis, Laura Guedes, Luciana Antunes, Marcio Tanaka, Maria Cristina Motta, Mariana Ruzante, Mariana Simas, Oswaldo Pessano, Renata Furlanetto, Samanta Cafardo, and Suzana Glogowski.
Studio Loft's innovative design has earned it the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in 2013. This award is granted to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embody extraordinary excellence, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics. The award is a testament to Studiomk27's commitment to advancing art, science, design, and technology through their work.
In conclusion, Studio Loft is more than just a photographic studio. It is a space that blurs the boundaries between the inside and the outside, the industrial and the urban, the functional and the aesthetic. It is a testament to Studiomk27's innovative approach to design, and a shining example of how architecture and design can transform a space, and in turn, the experiences of those who use it.
